The Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Commission
will again be sponsoring Summer Play Camp programs at Morgan’s Grove Park, Sam Michael’s Park, and Wright Denny
Elementary School. Each site is supervised by trained staff and offers a variety
of recreational opportunities including non-competitive games, sports, arts & crafts, nature activities, theme days, swimming,
trips and special events.
DATES/TIMES: June 16 -August 8 from 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
FEE: $75.00 per week. Pay in advance for all eight weeks and SAVE
by getting one week FREE…cost in advance is $525. This offer expires on
June 18th. ADDITIONAL FEES WILL BE COLLECTED FOR FIELD TRIPS AND SPECIAL EVENTS. Each child is required to purchase a T-shirt that will be worn on field trip days
for an additional $8.00.

MORGAN’S GROVE
PARK—Ages 5-10: Directed by Stephanie Unger, this camp is held at Morgan’s Grove Park in Shepherdstown. Children will be bused to Lambert Park one day a week to swim and will attend one field-trip per week. Field trips may include Chuckie Cheese, ice skating, roller skating, Cunningham Falls,
and Cacapon State Park.
MORGAN’S GROVE PARK—Ages 11-14: Directed by Jon
Fletcher, this camp will concentrate on offering young adults the opportunity to be active and have fun. Campers will participate in age-appropriate sports and games, and will be bused to Lambert Park one day
a week to swim and will attend one field-trip per week. Field trips may include:
Half Moon Beach, ice skating, roller skating, bowling, tubing, Cunningham Falls, and Cacapon State Park.
WRIGHT DENNY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL—Ages 5-12: Directed by Jamey Sindledecker,
this camp will be held at Wright Denny Elementary School, located in Charles Town. Children
will be bused to Clarke County Pool once a week to swim and will walk to Jefferson Memorial Park two days a week to swim. Children will also go on one field trip a week.
Field trips may include Chuckie Cheese, Cunningham Falls, Cacapon State Park, bowling, roller skating, and more.
SAM MICHAEL’S PARK—Ages 5-12: This camp will meet under the
pavilion at Sam Michael’s Park. Children will be bused to go swimming one
day a week to various pools in the area. Campers will also go on one field trip
each week. Field trips may include bowling, movies, Cunningham Falls, Cacapon
State Park, ice skating, roller skating, and more
