Temporary Park Manager

Summer Camp Counselors
The Department of Parks, Recreation is currently seeking qualified applicants for Summer Camp Counselors to work in various summer programs. Programs include the Summer Day camps that work with children ages 5-12 and other Summer camps for all ages. Positions are available June through August 2013. Duties include assisting with implementation of age appropriate recreational activities. Please include all applicable experience working with and/or supervising children on your application. Instructor Opportunities
The Department of Parks, Recreation is currently accepting applications to establish an eligibility pool of Instructors to work at various locations across the county on a part-time as needed basis. Instructors will teach their skills or talents to meet customer demand or in response to trends. Subject matter may include arts and crafts, fitness, dance, aerobics, strength training, water safety, languages, Standards Of Learning (SOL) subject matter, nature, historical, educational programs and classes, adventure programs, various sports or any other talent or activity, from Beginner to Advanced level and for audiences from preschool aged to seniors or special needs. Schedules are flexible and can include days, evenings and weekends. Hours vary with the number of class sessions. Salary based on multiple factors including class skill level, technical expertise of instructor, and market demand.
Application for Employment & Background Checks
Jefferson County Parks & Recreation Commission has a desire to protect the safety and welfare of its youth during their participation in all sports or athletic activities that occur on or in JCPRC athletic facilities. Recognizing the nation-wide incidence of crimes against children requires pro-active steps to provide protection to children participating in organizations involving sports and athletic competition. JCPRC requires all adults, 18 years or older, that utilize county athletic fields to undergo a criminal background check.
